Attend a free event to discover how you can realise your growth ambitions with the support of a 1:1 business Mentor
Throughout the year we take our popular ‘Discover Mentoring’ events around Dorset. Our next stop is in Bournemouth, 14th May at the Hilton Hotel, 5.30-7.30pm.
We will announce locations and dates in this section of our website, on our Facebook and Twitter feeds, as well as Eventbrite where bookings are made for places.
Each season we aim to take in the major towns of Dorset, including the conurbation of Poole and Bournemouth, Blandford, Christchurch, Ferndown, Wimborne, Shaftesbury, Sherborne, Bridport, Dorchester, Weymouth, Wareham & Swanage. In some cases we may be presenting the service at a Town Chamber meeting, so please keep an eye out.
So what is a Taste of Mentoring event? We developed these informal, free 2 hour events in recognition that business owners are not necessarily aware:
- that our service, being funded, is accessible to ALL business owners
- of the difference between business mentoring and coaching
- of the particular benefits of mentoring as a form of support (both ‘hard’ in terms of improved turnover/profit/operation and ‘soft’ in terms of time management, skills/confidence building)
- of the process of mentoring: what happens, how often do you meet your mentor, what can you expect of them?
- what makes us the most experienced and successful mentoring organisation in England – the evidence
- what makes a good mentor and what qualifies ours? Who are they?
- when we talk about delivering a high quality service, what does that mean? What is the evidence? How do our funders, current and former mentees regard our service?
- We also introduce a current mentee and their mentor, to give you the opportunity to see ‘under the bonnet’ of our service from a business owners’ point of view.
Website and marketing are one thing, but being able to meet the people who run the service, to hear from a current client and their mentor colours the picture in real terms.
Here is a sample of feedback from our recent events. Our last event in Poundbury resulted in 100% take up from attendees whose feedback included: “Gave me a lot of confidence to get a helping hand!” “Very interesting, helpful and fun. Felt relaxed and welcomed.” “Good overview to how mentoring can benefit, lots of good pointers raised.” “Given us lots to think about”. “Well planned & presented”.
