Dormen celebrates its 10th Birthday

Dormen recently celebrated its 10th anniversary at a special event held in Blandford Forum. 100 mentors, clients, friends and supporters (including Dorset MPs and Councillors) all gathered to recognise Dormen's success in supporting over 1100 small businesses over the last 10 years, through the mentoring undertaken by a growing team of volunteer mentors, which now numbers just under 100.

A number of client businesses exhibited their products and services, and several clients spoke about how their businesses had been helped by their mentors. Phill Jennison, a Dormen mentor and also a lecturer at Winchester Business School, presented some of the early findings of his research project into the value added by mentors, and Dave Lakins of Key Multimedia in Dorchester, spoke about how the web had changed the business environment over the last 10 years and gave some glimpses into the next 10 years.

The evening concluded by paying tribute to the volunteer business mentors without whom Dormen's success would not have been possible.
